We are thrilled to introduce our latest addition, Striker Ssemugugu Samuel, who joins our ranks ahead of the highly anticipated 2023/24 season.

Ssemugugu Samuel, known for his lethal goal-scoring prowess, joins the leaders on a two-year contract until 2025, with an option for a third year.

Ssemugugu Samuel’s journey to Lugazi FC is marked by a trail of impressive achievements.

Previously, he plied his trade with the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) in the Buganda Regional League – the third tier of Uganda’s football.

During his tenure with UWA, Samuel showcased his goal-scoring acumen season after season, leaving a remarkable trail of success.

In his first season with the club (2020/21), he netted an impressive 13 goals. The following season, he upped his game, scoring 16 goals.

And in his last season with the Wildlife conservation side, Samuel achieved a stunning feat by bagging an astounding 20 goals.

Speaking about this exciting new chapter in his career, Ssemugugu Samuel conveyed his enthusiasm:”I am incredibly excited by this opportunity to turn that dream into a reality, and I am determined to repay the faith that the club has shown in me,” he told the club’s media in his first interview.

“It is still early in my career, but I know that I am ready to make this step up and play with this group of world-class players.”

He further added, “Once I had spoken to the manager, I knew that this environment would be perfect for my development.”

“I am relishing the opportunity to work with one of the best coaches in Uganda.”Under his guidance and support, I know that I am capable of achieving great things together with my new team-mates at this special club.”

As we look ahead to the 2023/24 season, we are confident that his presence will significantly bolster our attacking options, leading us to new heights of success.

Ssemugugu now becomes Lugazi’s 10th official new signing after Ronald Ssempala, Alvin Burungi, James Okiror, Abraham Opio, Solomon Okodi, Freedom Mungudit, Mubarak Mitala, Andrew Odong, and Samuel Nsubuga.
