Lugazi FC has announced a three-year contract extension of their current coach until 2026. William Kyeswa who joined the Lugazi based side midway season on the 2nd November, 2022  has penned down a new contract close to three year.

Lugazi FC registered eleven wins while drawing seven times and losing in six games under the stewardship of the gaffer and emerged fifth on the just concluded FUFA Big League table.

During the unveiling event, the club chairman, Eng. Abdul Kawuulu Mwanje revealed that for the team to achieve its objectives, he believes coach Kyeswa would push the team forward depending on short-time results evidenced.

” when we acquired the services of our coach, of course for the last eight months that we have been together we have seen his potential, we think he can push us.” Eng. Abdul Kawuulu Mwanje reveals.

He further admitted that, ” we are not sure whether by 2030 he will be with us but for the few months we have been with him, I think he can push us for the next three years if all goes well.”

” I take this opportunity to congratulate you coach up on this milestone, we are passionate and we want the best out of our squad and promise to offer the necessary support so that you effectively perform your duty,” Eng. Abdul Kawuulu admits.

However during the event, Eng. Kawuulu has revealed to the press the club vision and strategic plan where he has said, ” towards the end of 2020, we sat as the management of Lugazi FC and laid our strategic plan.”

” We formulated a ten-year plan where we agreed to put in place many things including infrastructure, we wanted to ensure that the first law of the game is in place and under our supervision and control,” Eng. Abdul Kawuulu Mwanje said.

” We as well agreed that starting with 2021/22 season, we laid a plan of playing in 3rd division league for two seasons (i.e) 2021/22 to see what happens in that season and gather experience, then the next season that is 2022/23, that’s where we were planning to progress to FUFA Big League.” says Eng. Abdul Kawuulu Mwanje.

” However, basing on the organization we had then, we were lucky and managed to progress to FUFA Big League in the first season.”

He further revealed that, ” according to our plan, we were supposed to be in FUFA Big League for another two seasons (i.e) 2023/24 and 2024/25 respectively. We then laid a strategy of staying in the top flight for six seasons considering the dynamics there and make sure by the 2030/31 we have to be in position of winning the Uganda Premier trophy as well as representing Uganda on the continent.

Meanwhile, coach Kyeswa William in his words said, ” my main objective as a coach depends more on players because I have a philosophy as a person which is possession-aided play which calls more of energetic players and players who are ready to learn.”

” So, I think depending on the club vision and the presence of players, we shall be in position to achieve what is ahead of us being that the club wants promotion and I think if we work together as a club, the technical and management and the players we shall achieve, ” William Kyeswa admitted.
