Lugazi FC captain Savio Kabugo and midfielder Abdul Kalanzi are looking forward to our next game against Calvary FC with excitement and determination.

Lugazi FC hosts the BetPawa FUFA Big League clash against the Northern region side at the Lugazi FC Stadium in Najjembe.

A victory at home in Sunday’s (1600 Hrs / 04:00 PM EAT kick-off) meeting would go some way to boosting Kabugo and Co’s chase for promotion to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Speaking to the club’s media, the central defender insists Lugazi will give absolutely everything in order to get a victory in what will be their first competitive game in 26 days.

Kabugo said; “The camp is awesome and bouncing, the boys are in great shape and looking forward to the game.”

“We have been looking forward to the game on Sunday, and have worked hard for the last two weeks to arrive on game day in the best shape.”

“I know Calvary are difficult opponents, but I urge the fans to come in large numbers because we want to make them happy and put smiles on their faces, Viva Lugazi,” he said with a beamed.

Meanwhile, Kalanzi who was handed his competitive debut at the club in our earlier meeting last October against Calvary is fully aware that it will take maximum effort to get the desired result.

The midfielder returned to the starting line up against Booma after he was dropped for our game against Police FC also recognised that the fans need to turn up and create an atmosphere to spur the boys on.

“We have prepared well for the game, and we know the importance it carries to our season, but we are ready,” he told the club media.

“I want to call upon our fans to come and make the difference as we fight for victory,” Kalanzi mentioned.

Solomon Akodi’s single strike at the stroke of half time in our earlier meeting this season on October 8, last year ensured that the Leaders’ 600-kilometre journey to Midigo Primary School Playground was a happy one.

The Leaders are on an 11-game unbeaten run since defeat at home to Mbale Heroes in October 2023, which incidentally remains our only defeat this season.
