Lugazi FC 1-0 Kajjansi United Football Club
Lugazi FC have gained promotion to the 2nd tier of Ugandan Football League, the Star Times FUFA Big League after beating Kajjansi United FC 1-0 in the Buganda Regional League final on Thursday 16th, June 2022 at Kavumba Recreational Ground.
The Lugazi based side victory at Kavumba came courtesy of young towering defender, Louis Anguti just seven (7) minutes passed an hour mark when he scored from a well taken free kick.
There were joy in the stands and on the pitch, team Chairman, Abdul Kawuulu Mwanje among the many who celebrated.
A number of People fetching their phone to share the moment when the team went to collect medals and crowned champions of the region.
Augustine Nsumba coached side who are also the champions of Ssezibwa group in the regular season, they collected Fifty one (51) points from the Twenty (20) games played.
As champions of the region (Buganda), Lugazi FC were also awarded with Two million Uganda Shillings (2,000,000/=) from Buganda Region Football Association.
