Today Monday January 20, 2025, we announce the signing of attacking midfielder Hussein Ssenoga from Buganda regional league side Free Stars FC.

Ssenoga has signed a one-year contract with us, and will begin training with his new teammates immediately.

“I feel really excited and grateful to have joined this club,” he said. “I have worked really hard in my career to be here and I’m looking forward to getting on the pitch with this team.”

He started his playing career with Free Stars in 2011, winning the youngest player of the season award when he scored six goals, and made two assists in 28 appearances for his club in the Buganda regional league.

In 2014, he played for The Saints Football Club in the FUFA Juniors League. Ssenoga’s talent continued to blossom, attracting the attention of Hearts Kyebando United FC who were playing in the Kampala regional league at that time, and was named Kyebando United’s most influential player at the end of the season.

A transfer back to Free Stars followed in 2017, featuring for the Mukono side through to 2021. During this period, he won the team’s player of the season awards twice (2019 and 2020).

His mouth watering performances earned him a move to Express FC in 2022, staring for the Red Eagles for two years in the Uganda premier league before he switched back to Free Stars at the beginning of this season.

While playing in the Buganda regional league, Ssenoga contributed nine goals (five goals and four assists) in nine first round games for Free Stars. This kind of creativity and an eye for a goal will definitely improve our team going forward.

Welcome to Lugazi FC, Ssenoga!
