We are delighted to announce the return of the midfield dynamo, Abdul Kalanzi, to the club.

Born on January 1, 2003, Kalanzi is a versatile midfielder who can operate both as a central midfielder and an attacking midfielder.

His journey through the world of football is a testament to his talent and commitment.

Kalanzi embarked on his football odyssey in 2016 with Buikwe Red, competing in the fourth division. Within two years, his leadership and prowess had propelled the team to the third division, his natural ability to inspire and elevate those around him.

Speaking about his return to Lugazi FC, Kalanzi expressed his excitement and readiness for the challenges ahead, “Lugazi FC will provide an exciting new challenge for the next phase of my career,” he told the club’s media.

“Having played for them, I know just how strong a squad it is that I’m joining, and I can’t wait to be part of this group’s drive to win major trophies.”

Kalanzi continued by acknowledging the club’s progress under Coach Kyeswa, “Everyone can see that the club has made big steps forward under Coach Kyeswa.”

“Having met with the manager and discussed his plans, I couldn’t be more excited for the seasons ahead and am ready for the hard work expected here.”

“I am hugely ambitious; I know how amazing it feels to win major trophies and what it takes to do it. I will be giving everything to experience that again at Lugazi FC,” he added.

In 2021, Abdul Kalanzi joined Lugazi FC, and his impact was immediate, playing a pivotal role in leading the club to the Big League, marking a significant achievement for both himself and the team.

Last season, he plied his trade with Catda FC, making a notable impact by contributing three goals and six assists in just eight games.

Kalanzi’s has represented various teams in the Masaza Cup, including Butambala in 2020, Mawogola in 2021, Ggomba in 2022, and Butambala in this year’s edition.

Additionally, he captained Kibuli Secondary School in the 2022 secondary school championship in Arua. During this tournament, Kibuli SS reached the semifinals, narrowly losing to Kitende.

Notably, Kalanzi and his team went on to achieve regional glory by winning the East African Secondary Schools Championship in Arusha, Tanzania.
