Lugazi FC’s Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 64 clash with Acholi United FC will take place on Monday, January 29, following confirmation by FUFA’s Competitions Committee.

The Leaders are making their first visit to Acholi United’s Booma Grounds in Kitgum in a competitive fixture for the first time in history, with kickoff coming at 04:00 PM (local time).

The two clubs were paired together in Monday’s Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 64 draw, giving our fans a chance to look forward to an away trip in the competition early in the new year.

It is still unclear whether the game will be among the broadcast games on TV from the five games in the competition to be played on that day.

Among the games include current holders Vipers SC’s trip to face our neighbours Lugazi Stars FC and Odramachaku FC’s home game against Soltilo Bright Stars in Arua.

If selected among the TV games, Lugazi FC fans can expect to catch it live on either FUFA run FUFA TV or national broadcaster UBC TV.

We had a short run in the competition last season, where we were narrowly defeated 1-0 by Express FC – the joint record winners of the competition – at the Luzira Prisons Grounds.

Allan Kayiwa’s penalty after 23 minutes ended the campaign for Lugazi, who had to play more than three quarters of the game with a man less.

Richard Makumbi’s men will be hoping to go one better this term, and we begin our cup campaign with an away trip to the Northern part of the country.
