The 2022/23 Football season in Uganda will see clubs in the top flight leagues , the StarTimes Uganda Premier League and FUFA Big League, mandatory to have Junior teams to play in the FUFA Junior’s League.

Since Lugazi FC gained promotion to second tier of Uganda Men Football, the FUFA Big League, it will be one of those from Buganda to compete in the league.

“It’s a great opportunity for us as a club to develop football from grassroots and so we wish to inform the general public that we welcome the idea though it is mandatory”. Stated Eng. Kawuulu Abdul Mwanje

The League (FUFA Juniors League) will see Lugazi FC face the likes of Vipers, Kyetume, Ndejje University, Luweero United, St Mary’s Academy, Buddo Soccer Academy and many more from Buganda Region.

This season, 2022/23 will be the first one where Big League clubs will be competing in the Juniors League, a project which was initiated in 2014/15 football season.

A head of the new season, only players born between 2006 – 2008 will be eligible to play in the league.
