We are pleased to announce the signing of Yusuf Mafabi from Mbarara City, with the defender signing a two-year contract with us.
Mafabi was a regular for Mbarara City during the 2024/25 season and played a key role in saving the Ankole Lions from relegation.
The 21 year-old defender made 22 appearances and helped the club retain the topflight status.
Mafabi first showed his high potential at True vine Soccer Academy and Kyetume Junior Team before he joined Arua Hill SC in 2020.
While at Arua Hill, he was balancing playing in the Uganda premier league with the West Nile side then, and featuring for Gombe High School (2020) and Buddo SS (2021) in the school football tournaments.
He was transferred to Mbarara City last year and quickly established himself as a regular starter in defence as the Ankole Lions claimed a 12th place finish.
Mafabi said;
