Results of Saturday’s elections for Lugazi FC fans are in.
Mudduse Bob, who vied for the chairmanship of the fans executive committee with Kisitu James, was the top vote getter with 426 supporting his bid for a two year term. Kisitu got just 67 votes, gifting the former the mandate to serve as the chairman for the fans.
Nazziwa Catherine won her seat on the fans executive committee as the secretary with 384 votes, defeating Byaruhanga Vicent who got 98 votes.
Ssali Timothy pushed Birungi Dorothy away from the general fans’ coordinator role with a commanding 399 votes to 70.
It was however a tight contest between Ochieng Reagan and Galabuzi Frank who were jostling for the post of Publicity. By the end of the vote count, Galabuzi had 277 votes to his name, 48 more than the vote tally of his counterpart.
For the Women’s Representative slot, Nakafu Sarah ran out as the winner with 372 votes. Her fellow Nambazira Mary had a vote count of 76.
The fans’ disciplinary officer will be Kirumira Richard Kalule who got 350 votes on Saturday. Namakoola Swaliki came second with 114 votes.
All the six winners now join Mutebi Collins (Vice Chairman), Mwesigwa Joan (Events and Welfare), Mugerwa Shafiq (Transport Officer), and Wassajja Edward (Assistant Secretary) who went through unopposed.
After taking their oaths, they will sit and appoint a treasurer to make an 11-man fans executive committee. Their term will be for two years – running up to 2027 (2025-2027).
