Lugazi FC fans will elect their new leaders on Saturday September 6, 2025 through a secret ballot. The electoral process began by publication of the ten elective posts, followed by nomination and vetting of applicants.
The nomination exercise attracted 17 aspirants and only two of them were unsuccessful during the initial vetting phase.
The position of the chairman of the fans’ committee received two entrants – Kisitu James and Mudusse Bob but the former was provisionally disqualified from the race for not meeting the minimum requirements for that position.
Positions of the Vice Chairman, Events and Welfare, and Transport Officer got one applicant each.
Five other posts which include; Secretary, Publicity, General Fans Coordinator, Disciplinary Officer and Women’s Representative lured two suitors respectively and they all passed through the sieve successfully.
Two fans applied for the post of the Assistant Secretary i.e Wassajja Edward and Wabwire Ali. However, the latter was also temporarily disqualified after failing to meet the minimum requirements.
This means candidates vying for the positions of the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Assistant Secretary, Events and Welfare, and Transport Officer are currently unopposed.
However, Kisitu James and Wabwire Ali can be reconsidered if they can provide and/or meet the minimum requirements for the respective positions they applied for by Friday August 22, 2025.

Transport Officer – Mugerwa Shafiq (Unopposed)
Assistant Secretary – Wassajja Edward (Unopposed)
Secretary – Nazziwa Catherine and Byaruhanga Vicent.
Publicity – Ochieng Reagan and Galabuzi Frank.
General Fans Coordinator – Ssali Timothy and Birungi Dorothy.
Women’s Representative – Nakafu Sarah and Nambazira Mary.
Disciplinary Officer – Kirumira Richard Kalule and Namakoola Swaliki.
Voting will take place at the Lugazi FC Stadium, starting at 9:00am.
