We are delighted to announce the signing of Frank Mulimi ‘Da Costa’ from SC Villa.
The nimble-footed winger cum right back has signed a two-year contract with the Leaders, and joins Abbey Kikomeko’s squad for pre-season immediately.
“I am pleased with this move,” Mulimi, alias Da Costa, said.
“For me, I am impressed with the project here and I love the organisation at this club. I have come to work harder and harder because I believe that’s the only way this team can get better results.”
“I am familiar with most of the players here, including the coach, and that will make it easy for me to hit the ground running so fast.”
Da Costa arrives at Lugazi FC with well-rounded experience in topflight football having featured for Gaddafi FC (Entebbe UPPC FC) and SC Villa in the Uganda Premier League.
In the five years he played for Gaddafi, he guided the club to promotions to FUFA Big League and the Uganda Premier League between 2019 and 2024, before transferring to SC Villa.
He featured in 10 games, and scored one goal for the Jogoos last season.
Before stepping into the spotlight, Da Costa first played for Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA), and Iganga Parents (IPA) in the schools football competitions.
