We are delighted to announce Mr. Steven Bogere as the club’s new head coach.

The experienced tactician has signed a one year employment contract with us, and begins his new role effective Friday October 25, 2024.

We thank the assistant coach for holding forte thus far, and we believe his arrival is timely as the management continues to work towards improving the performance of the team.

Bogere arrives with huge experience in coaching at the top level having previously handled SC Villa, UTODA, Idudi FC, UPDF, Proline, Victoria University (defunct), and Onduparaka.

Recently, he was coaching Mawokota in the Buganda Masaza Cup. He is a two time winner of the competition with Buddu.

During his illustrious playing career, he operated primarily as a midfielder, turning out for Jinja Secondary School, Millers FC and Tobacco. He also featured for Nile FC, Spear Motors, and SC Villa – where he is a legend having been part of their greatest team that dominated Ugandan football in the 1990s.

Bogere is also a former Uganda Cranes international. After making his debut in the friendly tour of Malawi in 1986, he established himself as the undisputed No.8 and captain of the national team for many years.

In October 1989, he played a pivotal role which saw Uganda reach the final of Peace Games in Kuwait. He also guided the Uganda Cranes to CECAFA Cup titles in 1989 and 1990.

Welcome to the Leaders Bogie!
