About Asubo Ladies Football Club.

Asubo Ladies FC is a professional women’s football team competing in the FUFA Women Super League (FWSL) after earning promotion to the women’s topflight tier last season.

It was founded in 2012 as Gafford Girls Soccer Academy, but its name has kept on changing, from Gafford Girls Soccer Academy to Gafford Girls FC, Gafford Ladies FC, Asubo-Gafford Ladies FC, and now Asubo Ladies FC.

The club started as an academy for only girls living in Kyebando, a suburb in Kawempe division – Kampala City.

It became a resounding club in 2013 – playing in different women football tournaments in Kampala henceforth, and it’s one of the pioneer clubs of the FUFA Women Elite League – Uganda’s top tier football competition for women between 2015 and 2019.

They are the current holders of the FUFA Women Beach Soccer League after winning it in 2023.

As one of the power houses of women’s football in Uganda, Asubo Ladies boasts with two silver medals that came in 2025, and 2022, in the FUFA Women Elite League. They also got bronze in 2018.

The 2017 campaign of the FUFA Women’s Cup saw them walk home with silver after a great show against Olila High School Women Football Club in the final that was played in Busia.
