We are delighted to announce the signing of utility defender Louis Anguti from North East regional league winners – MYDA FC.
The 20-year-old talented rear guard has signed a four-year-contract and will join his ‘new’ team-mates for pre-season under head coach Abbey Kikomeko Bogere. He’s capable of playing as a center-back, right back, and as a holding midfielder.
Anguti, re-joining the club two years after guiding the Leaders to the Uganda Premier League, said;
“I feel very good to come back home. I was born in Lugazi, my mother and father are living in this area. I also honed my skills from this great club after joining it way back when it was still in the Buganda regional league. I had some exciting moments as we played through the regional league, FUFA Big League, until we were promoted to the UPL. And I feel I will have another successful tenure here.”
“The management, and the coach believe in me and this gives me hope that I will have good performances in the coming seasons.”

The former Uganda U-18 and U-20 national team player began his career at Lugazi Soccer Academy. He studied at Standard High School-Zzana, and Buddo SS – whom he played for at the 2022 FEASSSA Games in Kenya.
His first stint at Lugazi FC was between 2021 and 2024. He is also remembered for scoring the all-important goal that helped the Leaders earn promotion to the FUFA Big League after a 1-0 victory against Kajjansi United in 2022.
Three years ago, he captained the Uganda U-18 national team as they clinched the CECAFA U-18 Boys Championship at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kenya.
He was also part of the KCCA FC U-20 side that won the 2022 Cambiasso Cup in Tanzania, before returning to the Bongo land with the Uganda U-20 national football team for the CECAFA U-20 Championship two years later.
His impressive performances at the tournament earned him a move to Tanzanian outfit Coastal Union in 2024. At the start of this year, he returned to Uganda and joined MYDA FC where he played the second round of the 2025/26 North East Regional League.
Welcome back home, Anguti!
