We are exceedingly excited to announce the signing of Solomon Ali Okwalinga from Kitara FC.
The experienced attacking midfielder has signed a two-year contract with the club – taking him through to July 2027.
Okwalinga, who made his name at Synergy FC between 2013 and 2017, arrives at the Lugazi FC Stadium with a bag of experience having featured largely in the Uganda premier league since 2018.
He played for Mbarara City across two stints. His first spell in Mbarara came in the 2017/18 season. His mouth-watering performances with the side caught the eye of KCCA FC. He was transferred to Lugogo the following campaign and won the Stanbic Uganda Cup with the Kasasiro Boys.
Onduparaka came calling (2019/20) and took him to the North West of the country, but returned to the Ankole Lions in 2020 and stayed with them for more three years.
In July 2023, he moved to Kitara FC with whom he won his second Stanbic Uganda Cup title after he scored the decisive second half goal against NEC FC at Mutesa II Stadium Wankulukuku in May 2024.
The two time Uganda Cup winner made five assists and scored one goal for Kitara last season.
He becomes our fifth capture of this transfer window following the arrivals of Dauson Mafumu, Paul Busolo, Yusuf Mafabi and Owachgiu Edrine Junior.
Everyone at Lugazi FC is delighted to welcome Okwalinga to the Leaders, and we all wish him the very best during his time here.
